The Journey

It's difficult to process, let alone explain, the journeys we go through in life.  What I am learning about my journey personally and the journey I am on together with my husband Scott, is that we are walking a path that has already been marked by our Maker!  I am so grateful I don't have to plan it, figure it all out, and try to decipher which direction to go.  My job, our job, is to obey God, trust God, and let Him lead.

Our journey with music actually started many years ago as kids.  Both Scott and me grew up in churches that experienced lively and authentic praise and worship.  As children we encountered powerful times in the presence of God in the worship services at church.  Although Scott was growing up in Arizona and me in Washington, the same God who created us both was calling us deeper and speaking to us early on in our lives about our calling as worshippers.

We both remained steadfast in church and our personal walks with the Lord grew deeper as well.  As teenagers we knew we were called to full time ministry within the local church.  In fact, when Scott was in the 1st grade the Lord told him he would be a pastor!  Part of my journey was moving to Phoenix in 2000 and meeting Scott one year later.  I'll save the details for another time, but it was clear as clear could be, Scott and I were meant for each other and now we would walk this journey of music and ministry together!

From the very beginning our lives are ordained and our journeys are marked. The Bible says in Psalms 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path." (NLT) We were never meant to walk in the darkness; directionless and lost.  In the journey of life God is there and present.  He is after all the One who designed our journey!  The Bible also says in John 14:18 "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." This is the whole point!  God is with you!

There are many unknowns but this I do know - my life belongs to Jesus!  That is enough for me.  When I was very little my mother made me blanket with big letters on it that says I BELONG TO JESUS!  All my life I have read these words and believed them.

Scott and I encourage you today to believe that YOU BELONG TO JESUS!  Your journey is marked with greatness and there are many exciting things in store for you, for us, for those who believe and rest in this promise!

Lovingly,
Lydia
